About

Saint Ambrose Summer Camp is a Catholic summer camp located in Annandale, VA for children ages 4-13.  Individual camps are offered on a weekly basis for eight weeks from June 16 - August 1,  2025.

 

Camp runs from 8:45 am - 12:00 pm each day, Monday through Friday, with Extended Care available, beginning at 7:00 am and ending at 6:00 pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do we have to sign up for all seven weeks?

No, you may sign up for as few or as many weeks as you would like.

Q. What is your refund policy? 

60% of the class fee is non-refundable. The remaining 40% is refundable provided cancellation is made in writing at least one week prior to the class start date. Contact the Camp Office by email at summer@stambroseva.org to request a refund.

 

Q. Do children have to be Catholic or parishioners of St. Ambrose to attend?

No, all children are welcome to attend, regardless of religious or parish affiliation.

Q. How do I register and pay for Extended Care?

Advance registration is not required for Extended Care.  Registration will occur when children are dropped off each morning.  Payment is made in the afternoon of the first day of the week in which Extended Care is utilized.

Q. Can I use Extended Care for just one day?

Yes, we offer daily rates for Extended Care.  Please see our Extended Care page for details.

Q. Can I purchase lunch for my child?

No, children attending After Care must bring their own lunch every day.

Q. Can my child join a camp that is already in session?

Yes, please email summer@stambroseva.org to arrange this.

Q. What is your staff to camper ratio?

It is approximately 1:7.

Q. Can I register for a few weeks now and come back and register for more at a later date?

Yes, but classes fill up quickly so don't wait too long.

Q. When does registration end?

Registration remains open throughout the summer, as long as spaces are available.

Q. What does a typical day look like?

7:00 am - 8:30 am: Morning Care

8:30 am - 8:45 am: Campers Arrive

8:45 am - 9:00 am: Morning Program for All Campers

9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Camps run with a snack mid-morning, please send your child with a nut free snack*

12:00 pm - 12:15 pm: Campers are Picked Up

12:15 pm - 6:00 pm: Afternoon Care

*On the last day of the week, all campers attend 9:00 am Mass with their counselors

Q. What about medications or allergies?

Ensuring the health and safety of our campers is our top priority.  Please list all pertinent health and allergy information on your registration form.  Please email summer@stambroseva.org if your child needs to bring medication to camp.

Q. What is your mask policy?

Masks are not required at St. Ambrose Summer Camp.
